Over 600 people benefit from TGN’s eggcellent first year

This Easter - on Thursday 6 April - TGN (The Gresham Network) will celebrate its first anniversary event and is expecting a bumper turnout of over 100 attendees on the day.

Set up in April 2022, TGN was introduced with a fresh approach to networking in Leicester, by enabling new relationships to be established in a zero-pressure environment. Running from 4pm to 6pm on the first Thursday each month, TGN is completely free to attend and registration is not even required!

The network attracts around 50 people each month from across the local business community. Attendees span business sectors from banking, financial services, charities, freelancers, business management, manufacturers, the arts, media and design, property and construction, the legal sector and more.

The feedback is always positive, and new relationships built have led to real impact. In Summer 2022, the Spark Arts for Children recruited fundraisers for their 2023 festival. Thanks to a conversation with DG Legal and The Parmar Collection, over £4,500 went on to be raised as they took part in the Leicester Marathon.

For one of the founding organisers, Ian Morris, Operations & Partnerships Director at Associate Events, it was a profound moment that revealed the true impact of TGN when he heard ‘you literally saved my life’ during a conversation between two people at the network.

TGN is led by a group of businesses including The Gresham Aparthotel, Black Iron Social, Gresham Works, Everything Global, Pattersons Commercial Law, Mattioli Woods, Metro Bank, Voluntary Action LeicesterShire (VAL) and Associate Events.

Anthony Rowe, Wealth Management Consultant at Mattioli Woods, said: “I have been fortunate enough to be a part of TGN since inception and we are proud to be a partner of this unique networking event. Each month people have relished the opportunity to network on their terms in a relaxed environment.

“In Leicester, we all have lots to celebrate and share around business and TGN offers a place to do this. Through no pressure at all people have genuinely ignited connections with others to help shape their future business.”

TGN events are held from 4-6pm on the first Thursday of every month and are completely free with no registration necessary. Future dates include Thursday 6 April, 4 May, 1 June, 6 July and 3 August and 7 September.
