ASM Clermont Auvergne take on the Leicester Tigers on Saturday 16th April as part of the Heineken Champions Cup. The match will take place at 5.30pm at the Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium in Leicester and it’s sure to be a gripping fixture. But did you know that there’s also lots to see and do in the city? Leicester is the city that marked the beginning of the Tudor dynasty when, in 1485, Henry Tudor returned from exile in Brittany to defeat King Richard III at the battle of Bosworth. Over five hundred years later, King Richard III’s remains were discovered under a car park in Leicester City Centre. The visitor centre tells the fascinating story of the dynasty, death and discovery of the last English King to die in battle.
The award-winning National Space Centre in Leicester is an out of this world experience featuring six interactive galleries, the UK’s largest planetarium, and the iconic 42m high Rocket Tower!
Theatre
If you’re also planning on staying the Friday night then you could also visit Curve theatre to see The Cher Show or De Montfort Hall to see the Irish dance sensation, Lord of the Dance.
Shopping
Leicester is great for shopping. In the city centre you’ll find the impressive Highcross Shopping Centre for all your fashion and lifestyle needs. St Martin’s Square and Leicester Lanes also include a great selection of independent stores.

A short drive or taxi ride outside of Leicester city centre you will find Everard's Meadows – 70 acres of beautiful green space and a state-of-the art brewery. You can grab a bite to eat, book a guided tour of the brewery (which includes sampling some of their best beers) and also try a pint of Leicester’s much loved Tiger Ale!
If watching the rugby leaves you feeling active, then Ninja Warrior UK, based on the outskirts of the city centre, is an indoor adventure park where you can climb, balance, jump and swing across different obstacles using and developing your ninja skills!
