Thanks to TGN - the monthly networking event at The Gresham Aparthotel in Leicester - even more children will have the opportunity to take part in The Spark Festival this February.
TGN launched in 2022 and runs from 4pm to 6pm on the first Thursday of each month. Around 50 people a month attend; it is completely free and no registration is necessary.
Everyone is made to feel welcome and network on their terms. There's no guest speaker, no agenda or presentation. Any business of any sector attends with the majority being from the Leicester and Leicestershire region. And to top it off people can choose to enjoy a delicious drink (or two) from Black Iron Social.
Recently Carrie Carruthers, Development Manager at The Spark Arts for Children told organisers about the benefits of the network. Carrie, said: "My first visit to The Gresham Network back in July 2022 got off to a great start.
"I really needed people to sign up some new recruits to run the Leicester Half Marathon to raise funds for The Spark Arts for Children.
"I got into conversation with David from DG Legal and Kiran from The Parmar Collection. They both ended up challenging each other 'I'll do it if you will'. David went on to be our top fundraiser and Kiran says he will do it again this year with some of his colleagues.
"Thanks to runners such as David and Kiran, The Spark raised over £4,500. This is supporting The Spark Festival, 13-19 Feb.
"At The Spark we believe it is not a luxury but a right for every child to participate in the arts. It benefits their well-being, their confidence, and their communication skills. Thanks to The Gresham Network - a few more children will be experiencing these benefits this February."
TGN events are held from 4-6pm on the first Thursday of every month and are completely free with no registration necessary. Future dates include: Thursday 2 February, 2 March, 6 April, 4 May, 1 June, 6 July.
