Room bookings at The Gresham Aparthotel have started to climb significantly since the beginning of the year, with double the number of bookings being taken, each month.
Coinciding with the relaxation of the rules around Covid, Eloic Montagnier, General Manager at The Gresham, believes this is indicative that the hospitality industry is showing signs of recovery as people are gaining more confidence to get out and about again.
Eloic Montagnier said, “We have now been open for just over three months and realistically-speaking, we have seen reflection of the national picture. There was a degree of caution in November and December so generally speaking our numbers weren’t as high as we had hoped and we were also faced with some cancellations. But we were certainly not on our own in that respect and the entire tourism and hospitality industry felt the same effect.
“But so far, 2022 is painting a very different picture. The bookings that we took in January were double the amount of stays we had in December - and February is looking like it will be even stronger as we hit January’s booking volumes as early as 7 February. This is a real reflection of the changing situation across the country; as the Covid rules are relaxing, industries such as ours are now resuming.
“We also know that some of these bookings are repeat business - and this proves that our guests are really appreciating the quality and benefits that The Gresham provides. As an aparthotel, it offers complete flexibility. Each room has its own kitchen and bathroom facilities, so guests can still be self-contained if they wish – and this is a real advantage when considering some of constraints we have faced over the past two years.”
The Gresham is one of Leicester’s newest hotel offers which only opened its doors to customers at the beginning of November 2021.
